recently started using a late 2013 mbp for casual editing in fcpx and noticed, it performs much better probably down to it running off a ssd.

So what I'd like to do is raid 2 or 3 ssds and make the 4tb raid my new home directory - is using a raid ok as a home directory? The boot drive is a 128gb ssd so I still get a speedy experience.

Can u actually. 'Raid up' ssds? I think probably 2x 512gb either pcie or 2.5" drives -what adapters do I need if using 2.5" in the sleds?

Existing drive set up

128gb ssd in optical bay - boot / apps
2tb green spinner - home directory
2x2tb wd black drives - RAID

New setup

128gb ssd - boot / apps
2x 2tb wd black drives - RAID - my 'to do' fcpx drive ft
2 x 512gb ssd - raid - active fcpx projects

Will just stick the 2tb green in an enclosure for backups

And yes I know apple took raid away in el crapitan - is it back in el sierra Leon? I use a free trial app that does raids so will use that

Maybe get 2 1tb ssds - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-in...gt-21&linkId=0e87d0d44e277bd5300c6f7a9d3bad64 or I think I may have 2 pcie slots free so perhaps pcie is better?
