Is the battery drain on the M1 Apple Silicon version of Chrome that's now been released anywhere close to Safari in terms of battery drain?

Oh wow, ok.

The reason I asked was because I've used Macs for years as a creative (as a pro musician, though not a lot of that is happening just now here in the UK...) so I've started working for a company using Salesforce which doesn't exactly seem to run that great in Safari, so was hoping to use Chrome. This has put me right off.

I guess I'll try something like Firefox for that?

Use Firefox instead.

And if the website is "chrome only" try this: https://github.com/Eloston/ungoogled-chromium#downloads
