On my Mac Pro 4.1 now a 5.1 dual processor 3.46, the preferred order of installing ram is
Three DIMMs 1, 2, and 3
Four DIMMs 1, 2, and 5, 6
Six DIMMs 1, 2, 3 and 5, 6, 7
If my slot 6 is not recognized (when I had all 8 filled with 4gb dimms it said slot 5 was empty), if I put 4 Dimms in and skip 6 and instead go to slot 3 or 7 what would happen? In other words instead of 1, 2, and 5, 6, its 1, 2, and 5, 3 .
Also I have just installed Three 16gb DIMMs in slots 1, 2, and 3 and it shows all 48gb, but says the speed is 1033 even though the dimms are 1333. I though I saw something that the Dimms will run at 1333, just not show up as such because of it being a 4.1
