Using external USB drive for media

Hi,
I've done a search and found either old or incorrect info on this.
Basically, I want to use an external USB drive for my media storage for the standard AppleTV apps and syncing via iTunes.
My unit is running 3.0.2 and I've followed https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/876654/ - so I can see the USB drive via NitoTV, so, that bit is all working.

I am assuming that to get the media bit moved that you need to redirect the media partition to a partition on the USB drive via a script and that's the bit that I'm missing.

Any help would be very much appreciated, as I can't find the relevant info on what I need to do anywhere on the internet - or I'm searching for the wrong thing...

Can now sync my whole iTunes library.
