I have had my S7 for about a year now, and one of my favorite features has been Samsung Pay. I love all the places I can use it, and have racked up quite a bit of reward points. Now that it's time to upgrade, I'm looking at other phones, such as the Pixel 2 or LG V30. I'm not wanting to give up Samsung Pay, and was already interested in the Gear S3 watch anyhow, which would allow me to keep using it. That being said, I'm curious if anybody has any experience with using the S3 with non-Samsung phones and could share their thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Samsung pay worked on my S3 frontier without a Samsung phone. Worked with OP5, G6 recently. I didn't notice any difference (or noticable differences?) with it connected to a non-Samsung phone vs a Samsung phone
On another forum, somebody said that while Samsung Pay worked, there was no way to redeem the points with the watch, which is one of the features I like about Samsung Pay.
In terms of noticeable differences, are you just referencing Samsung Pay, or in general usage of the watch? Thanks for responding!
You can access the Samsung pay app through the Samsung gear app. I thought I could still see my points and use them. I don't have my gear S3 any more to test.
I feel like I played the instant win promos, but I can't recall for sure. We may have to wait for someone else to chime in that has an S3 with a non-Samsung phone
