Using Google Voice with Android and my Mac?

I am using Google Voice with my Note2 and through Gmail on my Mac. I just downloaded the new Hangouts plugin. I'm trying to figure out how the plugin works.

I want to get notifications of new SMS, voice messages and phone calls in real time on my Mac.

Has anyone done this?

well, you can have gmail.com in one browser tab <chat using hangout> and google.com/voice <send/receive sms> on another tab. all you really need is a browser like Opera, Chrome etc. so whenever you get a new message on either hangouts or gvoice, you will get notified on the browse window as well as on your phone.
