With the release of the Messages beta app, I discovered that, in order to have complete synchronization of your messages across your devices, you need to be sending from a specified e-mail address. My Apple ID is tied to an e-mail address that I'd really prefer to keep private. However, I do have an @me alias that I'd prefer to use, but whenever I try to set it up, an error message instantly pops up. I also tried to add it to the list of associated e-mails on the Apple ID page, but it refuses to save.

Has anyone had any luck configuring this to work or are aliases not possible to use for iMessage?

Thanks!

I have my aliases setup to receive messages and it has been working since iMessage came out. You do have to login initially with your main @me.com account.

Interesting. I've tried this and no luck. Still the same error messages.
