so basically, i have got this charming first gen imac g5 with a lawn mower for a processor. woop woop. can i use its display as a secondary display? i.e. could i plug, say, a mac mini into it and use it as a display? or could it act like a cinema display, and could i use it as a display for my windows (gasp) laptop?

pretty sure answer is a big fat no...cheers

Basically, the answer is no, as the iMac doesn't have any video-in ports.

You could rig something up with a USB video-in device like an EyeTV, but it would be expensive, and the results are generally not good.

What do you mean lawnmower?

The G5 is a very fast processor. I guess it's slow by comparison to a dual core model, but just because a 500hp Mercedes Benz is slow by comparison to a 1000hp Bugatti doesn't make it a slow car in general lol. Anyway I haven't tried this myself but here you go: http://www.screenrecycler.com/home.html
