looking at buying an iMac. I would like to know if my harmony remote would control any part of it (say change changes if I go to say dish.com and stream my dvr). Also, would it be possible to hook up a Amazon Fire to it?

I don't think you can do any of that. Maybe there is a usb adapter that lets you use it as a display though.

Apple gayed target disk mode; it has to connect to another thunderbolt device for absolutely no reason at all.

It doesn't even transfer sound or anything, only displayport data.

Our Xfinity app allows us to watch any channel, "On Demand" program, or program that we have recorded (limited by our subscription).

I can't vouch for any other TV services but they all have something or another like that.
