I have an iMac for my personal computer and use a docked HP laptop with 2 external monitors for my work set up. Is there a way to have the iMac function as a third monitor when I'm using my work set up and also use the 2 external work monitors as extra monitors when I'm using my iMac?

Let me know if this specific scenario exists in another forum, I searched and couldn't find any thing.

Thanks!

You can hook up your Mac to the other screens no trouble at all using mini display port to display or port DVI or HDMI cables and adapters.

If you have a retina iMac it will not run as screen for other products due to the unique screen interface Apple used to get 5k working before the standard interfaces were available.

If it's older then you'll have to take a look at target display mode to see which models can use it and how to get it working. See link below.

Has anyone used the non-retina 2015 21.5" iMac in Target Display Mode?

I don't have the cables to test this out, just wondering if the option was removed from this model as well.
