Hi everyone,

So I finally activated iMessage today, and I realized that it's not really useable on an iPod touch... I have google voice and it official GV app installed which works wonderfully. So I thought well, I might as well give new technology a try!

I activated iMessage, and I realized, that I have no way of knowing which of my contacts has iMessage. For me to use it, I have to go to iMessage, then choose a contact, then when it says no listing found, I have to back out of iMessage, and open GV and type my message there!

Is there any way of displaying a list of only those users who have iMessage anywhere? I have looked, and looked, and haven't found anything!

And yes, while i know it doesn't save me any money, it would save my friends some!

When you begin composing a new message, if you start typing an address in the field, if you've previously sent someone a message, a blue bubble will appear by their name.

Well, the issue is that I haven't been able to iMessage anyone yet because I don't know who has it and who doesn't...

Does this mean that I'll just have to wait for others with an iPhone to iMessage me? And that others with an iPod touch won't ever be able to iMessage those with only an iPod touch or iPad?

Also the people you iMessage has to have iOS5 installed on their phones as well to receive an iMessage. If they have iOS5 installed and iMessage enabled then they should appear as able to receive an iMessage.

He understands the limitations of iMessage...

The problem is, unless you are on the phone the way they have it implemented doesn't make sense because you have no idea if you can even send a person an iMessage other than trial and error. There should be a way to run down your contacts and prepopulate the blue bubble so you at least know.
