Using internet on iPhone even at home

I'm laying on my couch right now typing on my iPhone even though I have an iMac G5 and a MBP C2D about five feet away from me. I think it's great I can be so comfortable and be able to browse the forum like this. I know this is a pointless thread, but are you guys using your iPhones too even when you have access to a computer? I never thought I would be okay with the price tag, but this thing is too cool. It's not perfect, but I'm sure happy with it.

I was just watching youtube videos on mine in bed even though I am writing this on my MBP that's on my stomach. I don't think it gets any stranger than that. :D
 
Could possibly rename it iPhone appreciation thread?


I agree. If the iPhone had iChat then I could ditch my computers for personal use, something I would really like to be free from.

I too have found myself doing the same thing :)
 
It's a cooler feeling when your on the internet with a iPhone than a computer.
 
i was doing that the first two days i got it. not so much when i'm working or when i'm sitting in front of my computer, but it's nice to browse the internet while in bed. i just wish i could browse and listen to music without the iphone crashing.
 
question

can the iphones inbuilt speaker play ipod music and the audio from video, or are you restricted to headphones?

I don't find them loud for speaker phone, but imo, I think for music and video they're pretty loud. I never have to put the volume to the highest setting except for the movie Karate Kid. I think I just didn't rip it right or something. Music is plenty loud to me though.

I haven't even used the head phones yet, I'm not even sure if I will. I mean, I have my regular video iPod I use at the gym and other than that, I don't really use my iPod. I guess I don't like the idea of carrying headphones.

haha, i totally keep doing that too. i could easily grab my powerbook, but instead typically use my iphone to check forums/email/other websites.

LOVE it.

oh and btw... the iphone has gotten me addicted to youtube again too. lol
 
Really nice to see some happy people, and I do love that U too can really kick back with your Iphone now and browse the net. I wish the would add chat functions too, maybe even more than the flash that they might never do, as it is being fazed out.
 
for me it was perfect timing, when I got my iphone I also took in my MacBook because the firmware up date killed my SuperDrive, so the MacBook will be gone for about 10 days but I have my iPhone for all my lazy browsing!
 
I hope to be doing the same thing later today. I need an iPhone so I can relax in my iCouch or iBed at night and be cool like you all! I so want to show up at work later in my iCar with my iPhone and say ha ha I got my iPhone!!

Sorry but I couldn't resist, it's an iWorld now!
 
A few years from now, no one will be hauling a laptop around with them anymore.

Everyone will be carrying an iPhone as their personal computer on the go.

I doubt it, i think this is a feature that users will eventually get over the hype and only use iphone mobile-safari as substitute for laptops. Users need to perform many operations before seeing the content (virtual keyboard for address, zoom in/out, moving left-right-up-down).

I mean, come on, Its nice and beautiful, but after all, eventually, people is reading the content of the webpage, and reading them on laptop is much easier.

I agree about using my iPhone instead of my Mac a few feet away. I love zooming in on the text and seeing those beautiful fonts at 160dpi. God bless resolution independence. Simply Beautiful!! The mouse just seems so clunky now. Cropping and resizing an image on an iPhone is sooo much easier and better than on a traditional computer.
 
It's nice to listen to music and browse, but that combination crashes my iphone a couple of times per hour. Youtube is buggy too.

Not too much of a biggie though... although they do need to send weekly software updates... just to make sure they don't brick phones with too many updates.
