What's the current situation for this?

I'm using a 2016 (so Intel) MBP on Monterrey and am looking for a way to get a particular iOS app working on it. Is this possible or do I need an Apple silicone mac. Might persuade me to get one soon in that case.

Thanks.

Like @n(H@rD$e mentioned, you need a newer Apple Silicon Mac.

I use mine with a couple iPad apps, but it is buggy. For example, I use it with the SolarEdge solar power monitoring app. If I login to the app on my MacBook Pro it logs me out of the same app on my iPad for some reason.

That sounds like SolarEdge only supports a single session at one time. Not really a platform issue, just how that app was written.

Not all software publishers have chosen to allow their iOS apps to run on Mac OS. I don’t know of an easy way to figure out which apps can run on Mac OS unless you already have an Apple Silicon Mac. If you so, you can look for the app in the Mac App Store.

Which apps are you thinking about running? If you list them here, I can check the App Store to see if they are available.

I have some iOS apps on my Mac but I rarely run them. I usually already have better apps on my Mac or the iOS apps are really designed around a mobile use case and aren’t that useful on the Mac. There are exceptions but not as many as you might think.
