Hi,

My first gen. UK iPhone died this morning and now won't restore. I've booked an appointment with an Apple 'Genius' but it's not until tomorrow lunchtime.
Can anyone tell me if it would be possible/wise for me to take the SIM out and put it in another old O2 phone until then so I can still make calls?

Thanks

You could try it with out really harming anything. I'm pretty sure it will work. In fact I saw a video on youtude of a guy doing the same thing.

Yes you can, I have done it, all your free allowences aka unlimited internet works on it as well. I even made video calls and its included on your allowance, because O2 charge video and voice calls the same.

Thanks for your replies - it seems to be working OK :)

I hope they manage to fix or replace my iPhone tomorrow though because I'm not sure how long I can put up with using my wife's ancient Nokia!

Won't work in old iPhone

It will work in any other phone, but it won't work in an old iPhone - I tried. It wants you to register it and set up a plan through iTunes again - really stupid. My original was not subsidized - why should it matter if I want to use my AT&T 3g new iPhone sim in my old one?
