Hi, when going on adventure sports holidays, I find I have to take my Macbook everywhere I go, simply to act as a data depository.

My GoPro fills a 32Gb SD card in four hours, so something like a 500Gb drive is required for a week's trip.

Additionally, is the requirement of a device to move data from the SD to the big disc drive. Currently, that's my Macbook - which is a stupidly big and valuable device to take away, for such a simple task.

I've seen the WD Passport Wireless, which allows you to dump directly from an SD to its 500Gb drive - but it's expensive, when I have multiple existing drives.

So then I looked at getting a Raspberry Pi to move data from my SD to an existing external drive, but will always have to find a TV to connect it to.

However, I have a computer in my pocket already - an iPhone 5.

Is there any interface I can get which will allow me to plug in the SD card and an external drive and an app on my iPhone to transfer the data straight from the SD to the hard drive?

Dumping to iPhone and then to external doesn't sound viable, as I certainly don't have 32Gb spare on my iPhone and probably not on my iPad - it'd have to be direct.

Thanks

Possible if jailbroken, don't think it is otherwise. I dont know what you consider expensive, but I reckon a cheap Windows or Android device would be easiest solution. Talking sub-$100 range.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but what about an Airstash? I use one all the time - love it.
