This may seem like an obvious question, but is it possible to use iTunes to manage your video collection?

For instance, I have a collection of movie trailers that I've downloaded over the years, as well as a few TV shows and the like, and it would be cool to add them to iTunes and make up my own playlists.

So what video formats does iTunes support, and how do I add them?

Cheers!

Most movie trailers are encoded in Sorenson 3, so they won't play in your iPod. Also, depending on prefs, the videos might be copied into your home directory.

I wish Apple would make separate libraries for music, podcasts and videos and be able to choose the locations to store them.

I've got Quicktime Pro so I don't mind re-encoding video to the right format for iTunes. The convenience of being able to open iTunes and have all my video material in there would be much better than having to go into the various movie folders and find what I'm looking for.
