Does anyone know if there is a way to configure iTunes to use multiple hard drives, without using network sharing? I use my TiBook 500 as my main music holder, but I am thinking about also getting an external hard drive to hold more music. I want to keep the 10 gigs of music I have on my TiBook on my TiBook, even after getting the new hard drive, because I want it when I travel. However, I also want to be able to plug in the other hard drive and have those songs available, probably as a second library in iTunes? Can someone let me know if this is possible, and if so, how to do it?

This might work...

It would seem to me that if you drag in your external hard drive music collection with the preference to "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" disabled in the "Advanced" preference pane. This will keep it from copying to your default location (TiBook) while keeping them in your library.

If you try to access a song while your external hard drive is unplugged, it will display a "!" in front of the song and ask if you want to find it. I'm not sure if it stays this way or if it will "find" it the next time you have your external drive attached.

Good luck!
