Here is the issue:

1. iOS 14.6, iPhone 12 mini
2. AirPods gen 2, JBL bluetooth speaker, samsung soundbar
3. Go to iPhone settings -> music -> audio quality -> set lossless quality for both mobile data streaming and wi-fi streaming
4. play music with bluetooth device
5. after 10-15 seconds the music stop and bluetooth is acting like disconnected, It's actually very tricky to play the music again and it will stop again after another 10-15 seconds.

I've tried with different bluetooth devices and wifi on/off.

To fix it I just switch back to High Quality in music settings. I know that the AirPods etc. doesn't support lossless audio quality, but still kinda interesting bug in my opinion.

I'm getting a similar issue. Ever since enabling Dolby Atmos and Lossless Audio, I've had numerous problems with Apple Music playback through my AirPods Pro. I've had distorted playback (like TV static in the middle of random songs that definitely don't have that normally) and random disconnects, even after many restarts of my iPhone and fully resetting my AirPods at least twice. I've turned off Dolby Atmos and Lossless Audio in hopes that these issues stop happening.

Any conclusions as of yet?

So far so good but it’s only been a few hours of use since I turned those settings off. I’ll report back after a few days since the issue hasn’t been occurring every single day.
Already posted this elsewhere on MR but wanted make sure you saw it also:
"Thanks! Will give it a try. Today in the park I played around with the settings and only got my Shazam tracks to play after making sure Cellular was on in 'Settings..> Cellular...> Music. Worked for a while and then I noticed that not only was it using my cell data but also that the amount of data under 'Music' per above had increased! This while playing a Playlist under 'Showing only music on this iPhone'...! WTF? Cut off ALL Cellular (under Settings) and the music finished the song in play then began the next...played..sputtered...played...sputtered....stopped. Strange bug indeed! Will continue to experiment but Apple has to get this together! Not sure what it means but was trying to play music downloaded by Shazam and with 'Spatial'...'Lossless'...'DolbyAtmos' all on...Tried playing around with the on/off toggles of each ....iPhone seemed at times to want to crash. What a kluge."

Alright so I spent most of this week listening to Apple Music as usual and have not experienced any disconnects or glitches/static. I think it's safe to say that a likely trigger of those issues is Lossless Audio and/or Spatial Audio. A shame, really.

Solution was to sign out of Media & Purchases in iCloud settings then sign back in on the affected device. No problems since then.

Can you be a little more specific? I ask as that is what was said on a different thread and it didn't resolve the issue. You mean, for the iPhone, sign out of M&P ON THE iPhone and then sign back in.....? Or do you mean to sign out of M&P under Apple ID on the iPhone and then sign back in....? Thanks in advance for any clarification. Also, when did you do this....how long has the problem been solved (away from wi-fi/cellular)?

Sign out in Apple ID. Restart phone, log in, solved since i do this.

Update: Here is a copy of what I've posted on the Apple Forums since the 14.7 update:
Dolby/Synch Problems

Wow. What a coincidence! Been having the same issue (always with Shazam downloads) and got off of the phone yesterday with two Apple techs and went to the park today and my problem appears to be solved! I also noticed that my problem seemed to occur in my car a lot but then noticed that when I 'disconnected' my iPhone from my cars stereo ...the problem went away. At the park my settings were:

Dolby Atmos: Automatic

Audio Quality: Lossless Audio 'ON'

Wi-Fi Streaming: Lossless....>ALAC up to 24bit/48 kHz

Downloads: Lossless .......> ALAC up to 24 bit/48 kHz

Also....under Music....'Allow Music to Access'......> Cellular Data 'OFF' ('ON' , when it worked once/twice before , was on of my gripes...who wants to have to use data to play music).

And: AirPods Pro.....> 'Spatial' set to 'On'

Hopes this helps. Also found out from the techs that some songs, downloaded from Shazam or otherwise, might not play because Apple Music has lost/never had rights or the artist pulled the song.....so , just because Shazam says it has downloaded a song doesn't mean it'll play!!? ! When this happens you may get a dialog box stating : 'Cannot Open...This content is not authorized' . If you get a 'Connect to Wi-Fi or Cellular to Play Music' dialog it means you haven't used Apple Music for that Song or Playlist in a while and simple have to re-download. Preferably using your home Wi-Fi. This was a gripe of mine with AM years ago but one of the technicians told me it's been 'fixed' provide you have 'Synch Library ' on in Music settings. Time will tell on this but I've gone back to putting a monthly reminder on my calendar to 'Dnld. Apple Music'.

Hope this helps as many as possible.
