Hey all

Haven’t had a Macbook since 2011 (!) and is very intrigued by the new Apple silicon. Seeing how the new MacBook Pro only has two usb-c ports, does that mean I cannot charge + use an external hdd + and attach a external screen at the same time? Pardon the ignorance but I haven’t seen this discussed and haven’t been in the MacBook discussion for quite a while!

TIA

If you don't need Thunderbolt 3. You may use similar USB C docks for USB SS 5 or 10 speeds. Usually they are considerably cheaper.

A dock is definitely the way to go. One cable and you connect to everything including charging. Just make sure the dock is rated for 60W to 90W power delivery.
