Hi ~ i have 19 Macs in my lab that I manage. They are set to automagically login. I find student users are always logging them out when they are finished. That creates a problem for me because they are sitting at the login prompt and if another student wants to use the Mac they cannot. I hope somebody can offer some advice to stop this from happening.

For the short term, I'd probably just do the simplest thing possible, and put up an easily visible sign with the account and password info on it. This is pretty much how my public library does things with their Wifi connection info. There are signs posted around the library that show the name and password for the month. It's not an "open network", but the info to use it isn't a secret.

This assumes your account names and passwords have no need for secrecy. If they do, then I suggest making sure the account is non-admin, and the passwords are the same across all computers, and none of them are secrets.

You can manage the options that show in the Apple menu with a configuration profile. One of those options is to remove the "Log Out" item.

For the short term I added an image for the login screen informing students they must restart workstation click on the restart option. I enabled the options to shutdown, logout, restart
