I was using Verizon email when that was handed over to AOL Mail. Everything's been working fine but I just received an email from AOL saying "AOL is committed to providing you with a secure email experience. If you use a third party email client, like Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird or Apple Mail, then you may be using a less secure sign in." They refer to this web page:

https://help.aol.com/articles/how-d...y-verizon-net-mail?ncid=mbr_comdefeml00000002

where they say if you're using POP (as I am) don't change this to IMAP, they give port settings, etc. But all they say to do is go to Mail, click on Accounts, select AOL, sign in, and you're done. If I click on "Details," nothing happens. I don't see any way to select or change POP/IMAP or port settings and when I go to Mail Preferences, it is showing the AOL Mail account as IMAP and only allows changes to the outgoing mail server.

How do I choose POP, how do I change the incoming mail server? Thanks.

Okay, I think I may have addressed this issue. Instead of adding an AOL account, I just edited the current one that uses my old verizon.net email address with AOL Mail. That allowed me to change the incoming port number and the outgoing server name to match what AOL was requiring. I hope that's all there was to it.
