Is it ok to use the MacBook in direct sunlight, as long as it is not too hot or humid? If so for about how long would it be OK? I would like to use my MB on my patio every now and then, so general guidelines for using the MB outside and in the sun would be appreciated, thanks.

What about some sunblock and a pair of good quality sunglasses? Don't bother rubbing sunscreen that's above SPF 30 onto the MacBook or yourself. SPF 50 sunscreens don't work much better than SPF 30 sunscreens, and it's worse for you. You may as well give your MacBook a hat while you're at it, and make sure to use it in public after that.

You're welcome.

If I just use coconut oil will it get a tan? He's white and needs it.

I'm outside right now with my macbookpro and i've been out here all day!! no damage done plus all the neighbors can see my sexy laptop!!

the only real downside or problem i see with using your macbook outside is that it could change color.

I have a black macbook that I have used outside on my college campus for about a semister and its dark black color has faded to a greyish color since then :/
