I just got a Philips 42 in. HDTV (4PF7421D) and I was wondering if I could could connect it to my computer via a HDMI-DVI cable. I did some searching and apparetly my TV needs to have HDMI v.1.2 or higher to work, but I have NO idea what the specs of my TV are. Has anyone been succcessful in doing what I'm trying to do?

yes... all you need is a DVI to HDMI cable. Hook it up and go. You have to go to System pre> displays> detect displays... you know, the usual, but that's it. Worked for my house. We have a 55 inch sony rear projection LCD.

nice. did you have to do anything to get the resolution to work on your tv? i was reading some other forums and the picture was cut off when this guy connected his MBP to the same TV as mine. anyway, he cable is on its way (only $6 on ebay) and i'll give it a try for myself.
