I’ve just splurged on the 2020 iPad Air (the iPad Air 2 was getting long in the tooth). I still often need both headphone jack and VGA connector when working away from home.

Is there an adapter that would give me both in one?

If not, can I plug the VGA connector in the iPad’s USB-C port and the headphone jack in the Magic Keyboard’s port, or vice versa?

Thanks

This was the closest thing I could find.
From there, plug that adapter into this adapter that you can then plug into your iPad Air.

Thanks for that idea, I hadn't thought of going via HDMI. I'll try it out. Thanks too for reminding me that the keyboard is for charging only. Looks like I'll be dongling for a little while yet.

At least your iPad will be fully charged…

Here’s what I did.

It’s a travel hub for a HP windows laptop, so you are looking for usb hub with both VGA and USB-A. I then got a usb to headphone jack adaptor that then into one of the USB ports, and my audio cable goes into it.

Oh thanks Abazigal, that's a neat alternative. I went through HDMI in the end, and it works really well on one site I go to. At the other, the picture and sound flicker off and on for a second every few minutes, but I can use audio from my phone so it's manageable for now.

FYI, I tried 3 different adapters/hubs with HDMI port that all claimed to work with the 2021 iPad Pros. Bought these off Amazon and none worked for HDMI with our TV or monitor. Two didn’t show anything and on one the picture was all red in color. I ended up paying top price for the Apple adapter but at least the HDMI works.

Yeah, it's really a lottery out there. Bought a few adaptors that had a VGA and audio jack, but they didn't seem to work with my iPad either.
