I was wondering if anyone could help me with this issue. I have recently bought a Macbook Pro and have iMessage set up and associated with my apple ID.

I have recently installed the iOS 6 update on my iPhone. Messages between the two devices are syncing perfectly which is great but when I send an iMessage from my Macbook Pro it appears on someones iPhone as coming from my apple ID. This means that the recipient now has two threads on their phone, one from my iPhone number and one from my e-mail address.

Is there anyway I can send iMessages from my Macbook Pro and have it come up on the recipient device (someone else's iPhone) that it came from my phone number and not my e-mail address?

Appreciate any help, thanks!

on mbpr, open iMessage, go to Preferences, in tab Account, click your iMessage account, see the bottom "Start new conversations from",
choose your phone number registered in your iOS6 instead of email address,
done.

That's brilliant, can't believe it was that simple! Thanks for the help!
