I have a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet on my MacBook Air in iCloud Drive but I need to edit it and convert it using Numbers I have on my iPad Pro. How do I export it then convert it back to Microsoft Excel to send it back to the originator who has a Windows O/S please?

Export it using AirDrop, open the spreadsheet in Numbers, and then export it as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. If you cant export it in Numbers, open up Microsoft Excel on your iPad and export the document from there.

Can you not export to Excel? I uninstalled Numbers from my iPP as I've literally never had anyone give me a Numbers document, but Keynote can export to PowerPoint so I'd expect it to be the same.

If for any reason that doesn't work, the alternative would be to transfer it back to your Macbook and export it to Excel there (the Mac version of Numbers can definitely do this).

Of course if the original document is Excel and you need to return it in Excel the other obvious solution is to just use Excel.

Wait you cannot bring the file straight to the iPad even though it is in the cloud?
And shouldn’t numbers open excel sheets right away?
