I've been using LR 4 and now got a M1 Macbook and am finally biting the bullet and changing over to Photos as my DAM. I am just an amateur photographer. I mostly now just use my iPhone for photos but will break out my Canon 5D Mark III for special occasions. Since I haven't touched Photos since it was iPhoto and used to just use Aperture back in the day, my work flow for my RAW files is this with LR:
1) Import RAW files to my NAS through LR to my NAS
2) Adjust/edit files in LR.
3) Export as JPEG.
4) Upload to Google Photos for me to share with friends and family and for backup.
It would be nice to be able to import my RAW files in Photos, save it on my NAS, and have any edits upload to iCloud Photos with the changes as JPEG (so as not to eat at all of my iCloud storage).
Questions:
1) If I save my RAW files to an external device or folder (i.e., not the Photos Library), does Photos not send these RAW files to iCloud?
2) How is the easiest way to get any adjusted RAW files up to iCloud through the Photos app?
