I'm trying to get continuity to work with my setup, which is as follows:
  • rMBP 2014 plugged into router with Thunderbolt->Ethernet
  • iPhone 7 Plus connected to router via WiFi AC
  • rMBP connected to Pritunl using official Pritunl macOS client
  • iPhone sometimes connected to Pritunl using OpenVPN client in App Store
  • Pritunl VPN Network - 192.168.2.0/28
  • Asus AC68R Network - 192.168.1.0/28
When I connect both devices to the VPN at the same time, I can place a call from my Mac - using my iPhone's cell connection - right away. However, if I let the iPhone sleep, it'll drop WiFi, and (my guess) also the subnet of the VPN, rendering Continuity useless.

I'd be willing to even not keep the VPN on, on the iPhone, and just have it activated on the rMBP, as long as Continuity would work, but it doesn't work. I can ping my iPhone's IP address from my rMBP - while connected to the VPN - with no problem. But once the rMBP is connected to the VPN, and the iPhone is not, Continuity ceases to work.

Any ideas on how I can use Continuity in tandem with my VPN? Is my subnet setup wrong?
