I recently snapped the harddrive on my PC. I never backed it up and everything is gone (I've learned my lesson). The only remaining copies of my 20 gigs of music and 5 gigs of photos are now on my 120G IPOD Classic.

Bought a brand new Macbook three days ago and want to get the songs and photos off the Windows formatted IPOD onto the Macbook....I've been told Senuti can do this. But I have no backups so can't afford to lose the data!

When I downloaded and ran Senuti...the directions indicate that I need to enable disk use in order for the program to run successfully.

I plugged in my IPOD, held down the command and option key to avoid auto sync. Itunes recognizes the IPOD but tells me it isn't formatted for a mac. I've searched all over Itunes for an "enable disk use" button but cannot find one.

Can anyone help? Thanks !

After you connect your iPod to your computer and iTunes recognizes it, click on the icon for your iPod. Once the page opens for your device, it should open to the Summary page; if not, click on the tab at the top of the page to "Summary". Towards the bottom third of the page under Options, you should find the "enable disk use" option box.

windows-based Ipod to mac

I found that when I followed Senuti instructions and enabled disk use, I needed to hit "apply". When I did this, the Itunes started syncing all my files (and of course I would have lost them) so I pulled out the cord. I still cannot properly sync my Windows-based IPOD to a MAC with Senuti. If anyone has done it successfully and could share it with me, I would be most grateful!
