Hey guys, I have the original Airpods and I absolutely love them. However, the only thing I don't like about them is that I have a hard time listening to Podcasts when I'm taking the subway. Noise cancellation with the Airpods Pro would solve that!

However, I wonder if the Pro would be comfortable to use while sleeping. What I like about the original Airpods is that I could sleep on my ears with the Airpods inside and it doesn't hurt them. Can anyone with the Pros tell me if they are as comfortable to use in bed? It's the only thing that makes me hesitating to buy.

Thanks a lot.

Absolutely not comfortable with them in and laying on your ear.
OK, so just like all the other in-ear earbuds, it puts a pressure in your ears when you lay your ears?

If that's the case, I think I might just use the wired earphones when I go to sleep and purchase the Airpods Pro for daily use.

Pro's are better than the V2 for this.

Yeah, the head of the APPs is big enough to jam your ear canal.

Just remove the silicon tips since they don’t have a barrel like typical in-ear headphones do. And there you have it, regular AirPods!

Really, does that really work? That's great to hear.

Just sold my Gen 1 Airpods to and ordered my Airpods Pro. Can't wait to try them out.

To each his own, but I am surprised that you found the original comfortable to lie down with. I tried that and no matter what I did, they would always hurt unless I was lying on my back (I never lie on my back).
Regardless, I doubt the APP will be any better.

I listen to audio books while laying in bed using one airpod only (used to with v1 and now air pods pro). I just alternate ears to the side i'm not laying down on, same air pod, just upside down on one side. Works fine.

Why not just use the HomePod and set a sleep timer? That is if you have them.

if you have the AirPod 1’s for a whileand have upgraded to the v2’s/Pros then use the v1’s for this as most likely the battery will be dying soon enough.

I had used bose sleepbuds but returned them since they discontinued them offering full refunds because of so many failures. I use one headphone only while sleeping on my side. Works well for me.

I think anyone would find it tough to say they are perfectly comfortable to lie on your side with, but I personally find them better than the previous generations simply because they don't tend to fall out as much (at least for me). One aspect that is huge for me though is the noise cancellation so I am actually to use them as a sleep aid by listening to music on the lowest setting. I'm a bit of an insomniac and the human mind can find rhythm relaxing.

I'll also mention I love the silicon inserts as it alleviates any anxiety with securing them snugly in the ear. One earpiece of my first pair of first-gen stopped working because of ear wax. I love that I can not worry about this and can easily replace the inserts.
