Would like to replace my alarm with the iPhone. When plunged into the dock and hooked to power is there any way to have the back light stay on (short of changing back and forth in settings)? Also is there a way to have it go to the "low light" mode and stay?

i set an alarm on my iphone but it NEVER goes off!? I'd like to do the same thing, and can you choose your music to wake you up?

I always use my phone as the alarm clock. I had a rude awakening this morning. I would suggest to not use the 'Alert' tone, it will scare the crap out of you.

I used the alarm feature on my phone saturday morning to get me up for work. Worked like a charm. When setting it up, it let's you pick any of the preinstalled ringtones and the sound.

I've been using it as my alarm clock since I got it. (two whole mornings, yes.)
and it's worked flawlessly. That dumb xylophone keeps waking me up. :)

I'd be very interested in a review of the alarm clock on iPhone, since I use my current cell phone's alarm clock feature frequently.

I like it how you can have unimited alarms and specify the repeats by day of the week.

So for example, I have a wake up alarm for M-F but not on weekends. That means I don't have to keep turning it off on the weekends.

Agreed, I also use my phone as my alarm clock and this was a nice little touch.

I believe you would have to create 5 alarms...one for each day of the week (M-F). So, create one alarm with a repeat of every Monday and so on. Under repeat, there isn't an option for M-F only, weekends only or everyday.

Looks like you can have as many alarms as you'd like.

Edit: Oops...sorry, I misunderstood David's post. Thought he was asking if you could create an alarm for M-F only. Sorry!

You can create an alarm for m-f only. When you go into the repeat setting, it allows you to check off more than a single day. If you check off m-f, when you go back to the rest of the setings, it'll say 'weekdays' for the repeat option.

From what I can tell, if you got into Settings -> General -> Autolock and set it to Never, the screen will never turn off. You can manually set brightness, but I haven't played around with it while docked. It's not a very large clock display, so wouldn't it be a bit difficult to read at 3am?

That falls under "back and forth", meaneing you would have to do this in the morning and at night. Also the iPhone should go to the "slide to Unlock" screen which has a readable clock.

Agreed, it'd be nice if there were settings profiles one could save and load. Much more powerful than a simple silent switch. Normal, Night, Loud, Quiet, Silent are all profiles I'd like to set up. And what would be even cooler would be the ability to assign a time of day to each profile, to automatically turn it on. Quiet would go on at 8am so I don't disturb people at work but can still hear alerts, Normal for after 5pm when I get off work, Night from 10pm so my sleep doesn't get disturbed by emails arriving and such, then Loud and Silent modes on demand depending on my situation (driving with the top down, at the movies, etc.)
