I am impressed at how effective the tomtom app is at warning when you are speeding or approaching a known speed or red light camera.

Is it possible just to use it for this purpose. Ok you can set a route but it's annoying to be told to turn here or there when all you want is to be told when you have exceeded the speed limit or approaching a camera.

So a suggestion a warning only mode be added.?you could even turn off the display to save power.

Isn't there just a 'show map' option somewhere? Just a guess, pretty sure my old sat nav had that and navigon does?

You may be interested in an app called aSmart HUD which is a heads up display of your speed, heading, etc and can even display it in a format that shows up (reflects) onto your windshield. It also has speed limit warnings that you can set (downside is that it doesn't know what the speed limit is, you have to manually set that). There are different types of aSmart HUD apps depending on what you are looking for. You may be interested in the aSmart HUD +speedcams app.
