Is it possible to turn off the cell radio, basically put it in airplane mode, but then use wifi? I am going overseas, and the idea of having to keep taking out my sim to ensure that I don't use 12340897130578mb's of data over there is important

thanks in advance!

I'd like to know this as well. My old PPC phone (Mogul) would not work if you tried to turn off wireless (phone) and just use WiFi. You can only use WiFi if the phone is on...turn the phone off, the phone goes into airplane mode (NO data transmission - not even WiFi).

Doesn't make sense. There are plenty of situations where you want the GSM function off, but WiFi on.

Oh well. Maybe some day.
