I have an iphone through Fido in Canada. I will be in the States for a few days so I installed truphone to allow voip calling. I called Fido to double check that I wouldn't be dinged for data and I was told that if the wi-fi drops off that the 3G may activate even if I have data roaming turned off on the phone. Anyone have any experience with this happening to them? I can't believe that the data would turn itself on if it's turned off. Thanks for any help

I figured that, and I was pretty sure the rep was speaking out of her ass, but I didn't want any nasty surprises on my bill. Thanks for the reply.
