I have a problem. On two networked computers, both parties can open any word document at the same time, do work and then close. WOrk from one or the other may not be saved depending on who saves when... any suggestions? Maybe a way to prevent more than one user to open the doc at a time?

Do you need to have the word file(s) available to two computers simultaneously? That's the simplest solution. Or when someone is editing a file they could temporarily move it to their HD (and off the network drive), so it's not available to the other.

Or use a program that can handle simultaneous editing like: SubEthaEdit.
