Hi.

I have an 8GB iPhone purchased with v.1.1.1 out of the box. I jailbreaked it with installer app running successfully. I recently updated to 1.1.3 using the new jailbreak method, but I have been having problems ever since!

Can I quickly tell you, the iphone actually crashed during the jailbreak (soft patch) twice, so this may be the cause!

Firstly, the ‘passcode lock’ feature no longer works. I enter a new passcode, but it still wont enable it. If I try to ‘turn it off’ (even though its not running), it says wrong passcode!!!!
Further to this, the SMS Preview feature within is switched off, but it still shows messages!

Secondly, the speaker no longer works (or ringtones) even when the phone is on loud (not silent). Someone wrings me, no noice…just vibrate. I go to the settings, try to listen to them….no sound. BUT, all other sounds (i.e. message and ipod) work.

GUYS! PLEASE HELP ME, I FEEL LIKE I HAVE A HALFWAY IPHONE, REALLY APPRECIATE ANY HELP!!

And for sure the switch on the side is to ring and not silent?

Just a little patronising guys, although I know you guys are only trying to help. I was more along the lines what can I do to reinstall 1.1.3.

I have now restored back to 1.1.1 and everything works fine.

I was having problems with installed 1.1.3 using the soft patch...Does anyone else have problems?

I agree check to see if the silent switch above the volume is on, no red dot showing!!! Also turn off vibrate settings in the sounds settings...

to fix the passcode error:
use installer to install 'Term-vt100'
open the app, and type:
#!/bin/sh
cd /var/root
/bin/chmod -R og+rw *

press enter after each line
