After the news of Boot Camp, any ideas of me picking up a cheap PPC PM have now been firmly ground into dust.

Anyone else holding out for when the big Cheese Grater of Power goes Intel?

what surprises me is how high the prices of G4 mac mini's are. i expected them to get significantly cheaper with the intel mini core duo, frontrow and all that. but looking at ebay people still pay 90% of retail for a used g4 mini:rolleyes:

therefore i don't expect the prices for powermac to drop. they are still up to date and with photoshop not being native before the end of the year..........

While the knowledge that the (almost) entry level Intel Mac can play full QT HD film trailer better than a PPC PowerMac has been known for a while, the release of Boot Camp gives you options that PPC simply cannot match.

Still, by the time thr Rev B Intel Powermac is out i should have cleared my Credit Card down to a third its current balance.

:)

My G4 MDD Powermac is worth tops about £400 according to recent sales on eBay. It seems the old G4 imacs sell for more because they are more sexy - even if they do only have one CPU in them and it's slower than either of the processors in my powermac

If you're after a PPC bargain the late model G4 powermacs are where to look. The dual 1.42's are pretty fast regardless of them 'only' being G4's
