Vanishing Texts and Other Notifications

I have an Iphone 6 +, running OS 9.3.5. Many mornings the texts and other notifications that were on the lock screen have vanished. Anyone have any ideas how this could happen? TIA.

Vanished how? You see them on the lock screen and don't unlock or do anything else and then lock at the lock screen again a bit later and they aren't there?

Correct, they are there when I go to sleep. When I wake up the lock screen shows nothing.

Perhaps the phone might be restarting (or at least the springboard might be) and that clears things off the lock screen?
