So I have a Mac Pro 5,1. I added a sapphire vega 64 limited edition (its silver) and the display reliably won't wake from sleep if left there for more than about 6 hours. Such as, encoding something over night.
I can still ssh into the machine but I can't get the display to come up no matter how many times I unload/reload/kill the WindowServer. It can't talk to the gpu for some reason. Sapphire has already replaced the card with a brand new unit so I'm sure its not a hardware problem.
I power the GPU with a 600Watt PSU dedicated to it and jumpered.
I've attached the kernel panic. The gpu is under no stress and my LG Display is usually completely off when I try to resume and the failure occurs. Not sure if it has something to do with the display completely disappearing due to sleeping.
Any help is appreciated.
Also, if someone might share the kext they are using that works for them, I'd like to see if there is any difference in what I have in Mojave. It should be the same but ya never know I guess.
Not Overheating
Uploaded new kernel panic
Updated to 10.14.6. No change.
Update
After 10.4.6 and using smc fan control to push pci fan to a min of 1200rpm.... it hasn't happened in a week. Records are being set. If it goes a month, I'll call it cured.
