I wanted to share my experience trying to activate my LTE S7 on my Verizon Plan replacing an LTE S6.

I set my S7 up as a new watch, leaving my S6 to sit on the table while setting it up. First time attempting to pair to 13 Pro Max phone failed, second attempt, worked. However, when it came time to activate on Verizon, it failed. Verizon would ask for account password, identify the S6 that needed to be replaced, ask for my address, then BAM fail instantly.

So, called up Verizon Tech Support who... had same exact problem. Finally after a few failed attempts they said my home address wasn't being accepted by the E911 system. I gave them my work, that didn't work either, so I just told them I'd try later.

I ended up using my relatives' address and that worked (they live over an hour away). It didn't take right away, took about 5-10 mins and finally it took and the phone had the option to activate cellular one last time.

Later on, I try to update the E911 address and : it will not take my home address on the Verizon Wireless website

But at least my watch is activated and has cellular. <sigh>.

There are definitely issues with this on the Verizon community forums. I also had the issue and spent several hours chatting online, calling on the phone, then finally going into the Verizon store. For some reason they couldn’t upgrade my series 6 to a 7, then they decided the only way around it was to deactivate my watch line and set up a new line. Did that and still no cell service. Went to the store the next day after one of the online agents suggested it. After a lot of checking things, they ended up having me unpair and then they added another line for the watch. Powered back on and re-paired and all is good… except now I may have additional lines on my bill that I need to have removed.

I swapped from my series 5 to series 7 on Verizon this afternoon with no issues. I had unpaired my series 5 removed cellular when prompted then when setting up the new series 7 I was prompted to replace or new plan under the add cellular setup. I chose replace and it displayed my series 5 going to series 7

I had similar issues setting up my cell service with Verizon - app wouldnt proceed past a certain few screens (would be a blank white screen with the V logo at top), My Verizon app would get stuck on a screen that said e911 and not advance, and even their website is like a web to try to navigate to add service. When I did manage to seemingly get to the almost final stage of check out on their website, it just had a grey'd out 'Proceed to Checkout' button. Maddening.

The only thing that worked was going INTO the local Verizon store where the person helping me ran into some similar issue but they did know how to fix all the problems.

The solution for me? Turn 'FIND MY' off. Like, literally going into find my on my iPhone and turn it off. After that there was ZERO issues. They added the service within moments, and within 20min the cellular plan was active and I called my partner from my wrist.

I was surprised I had not thought of it, and how fast it worked afterwards. I obviously cant test this again, being that i have service (and turned Find My back on without issues) but I hope this helps someone else!

Thanks for this. I'm thinking of setting up my cellular plan today on my S7, and now I'll proactively turn off Find My first.

Find My does seem to be key. The agents I spoke with all had trouble figuring out how to do it. I guess the last agent’s idea to unpair and leave the watch off during the process was his way of doing that.

This was my first time keeping my Series 6 Cellular and changing on the same line to a Series 7 Cellular. (Normally I sell my older cellular but decided since the balance of the payments were cheap, just to keep it.)
I was told by Verizon and by Apple to first remove my older Watch and remove the cellular plan from the older watch then to set up the newer watch. I expected to have issues and have to call Verizon but it went through easily.
But I have had issues with the 911 address issues for a few years. Definitely since we moved to NJ from Staten Island about 5 years ago. When the issue first started I called Verizon and he worked through several addresses within about a mile of our home and he got it to work. Only "issue" will he warned is that the 911 operator might not be able to properly find me. Well, I fell in my driveway and hit my head on the concrete (must have blacked/whited out on the way down LOL because don't remember anything till I was actually in a regular hospital room - not even the ER) but the ambulance was called by the Watch.

Wow I wonder if they went off of the E911 address or the GPS location on your watch? And WOW glad you are ok - that's scary!

I am going to go and find an address near me that works cuz currently it's one over an hour away lol.

My next door neighbor was a retired EMT and he found me laying there. He yelled to my wife to get a phone to call 911 and while he was dialing the ambulance showed up. He asked who called and the driver pointed my wrist and said "That must be an Apple Watch." So I guess it works off the GPS, which makes sense since limiting the location to the 911 address you put in would be sort of a waste.
Thanks
