Hey all. I am planning on switching over to Cingular from Verizon in order to get an iPhone. I have 3 questions:

1. If I order from the online store, will they ship me a phone that i'll have to take to a Cingular store to get activated? Or will is shipped already activated?

2. Can I keep my number?

3. Does anyone know of anywhere besides the online store I can get an iPhone near Destin, FL

Thanks all,
-Dave

1. More than likely you will sign a contract via the internet, and activate it by taking it to a store to get a SIM and outline your plan, although you may get to buy your plan over the internet. In any case you may need to get to a store, especially to transfer your number (although even that can be done over the phone). Any Cingular/ATT store will do.

2. Yes, your number will transfer just fine.

3. Uh, drive to a major city? If you want it on launch day. Or just buy it online and wait 3-5 days.

if you want to find an apple store near you, i think you could just search google maps
