Finally got my iPhone 4 but it won't activate on Verizon's network for some reason. I've checked the ESN/IMED or whatever it's called to make sure that it's not blacklisted and it's not. Not sure what the problem is. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure its a Verizon model? 3g phones won't work unless the ESN is whitelisted on Verizon's servers. LTE phones are a different story. Are you sure you want a 4 in 2015?

I'm positive it's a Verizon model. I looked at the model number and it's the same as the Verizon 32gb Black (the one I ordered). I just have the 4 to hold me over until I can get my iPhone 6 fixed then upgrade to a 6 with more space.

Are there more ways to check? So far I've checked the ESN/IMED to see if it was blacklisted and it said it was good there.

Thats strange then. 3G phones have always been a PITA with Verizon. Consider taking it to their store. Sadly, Verizon users like myself have to rely on verizon support to fix their server side issues that should have been working in the first place.

Ah, I was hoping I wouldn't have to go to a store for that. I guess I'll go over there sometime this weekend. Thanks!

They were trying to activate the iPhone and told me that the phone wasn't a Verizon iPhone. Then tried to tell me that the iPhone is jail broken (it isn't).

They said it was getting stuck on their activation side.

If you have the ESN and its a verizon model number, it should be a verizon phone. Jailbroken phones don't change radio capabilities so that person sounds very ignorant. Hopefully you can get someone better.

Yeah, I thought that wasn't correct when she said it lol. Hopefully if I call in again today, it'll be able to activate.

I'm pretty sure this is a Verizon iPhone.

Here's an update. Never got the phone to work, but the guy on eBay who I bought it from was kind enough to send me another one. This one works perfectly., connects to the Verizon network and everything. Not sure what was wrong with the one I had previously. Now, just have to ship the old one back.

Maybe a hardware issue?

Friend of mine had an unlocked 3GS but could not get it activated on his carrier. Turns out the cellular radio was bad so I gave him my old 3GS and he was able to get it unlocked and activated.

Probably was a hardware issue. I'm just glad that I now have a working phone. :D
