So, I picked up a blue Verizon 5c today from a guy on craigslist and he insisted it was carrier-unlocked. I needed this because I'm wanting to use it on tmobile for its pay-as-you-go plan.

So, I ran the IMEI on UnlockFusion and it says its carrier locked; I wanted to check before bothering to order a SIM from Tmobile. Awesome! This ran me $375 for a basically new phone with box..I guess not a bad price, but I have a useless phone.

Question: is it possible to unlock the phone; or, is it possible I'm mistaken and the phone IS unlocked? He insisted before meeting that Verizon sells the 5c unlocked, exclusively. If unlockable, could anyone recommend a service? Thanks!

those websites are never accurate. per FCC requirements, verizons iphones are SIM unlocked.

No kidding! That was y understanding as well. So I should be good to go on Tmobile with this?
