So, I grabbed a Verizon Moto G when they first came out on prepaid. Loved it while I had it, but needed an iPhone again, which resulted in a contract plan.

I'd really like to have a Moto G again - even if only to use as backup. But I want it on my postpaid plan.

I know they activate no problem after 6 months, as my old prepaid one was given to a friend who needed a new phone, and it was activated exactly at 6 months - but what about if you buy one from Best Buy or Amazon and never activate it as Prepaid? Can you just dial *228 and activate it after bypassing the startup activation?

I've seen mixed reports about it working, so I thought I'd ask here.

So far, all reports I've seen was it works OK as long as it was never activated on prepaid. It's only if used on prepaid that you have to wait 6 months.
