Wanted to post this as I thought it's such a good deal. Both Best Buy and Walmart have the Motorola Moto G for just fiffty bucks. It works on Verizons prepaid plans ($45 Unlimited talk, text and 1GB) or 60$ for 2.5GB I believe. More data if you auto pay.

PS even as a media player this is awesome!

I gave mine to my Dad long ago. I have a Verizon prepaid $60 plan and I may buy it to just flip between it and my Moto X 2014.

I think it is a good deal even it is for the 2013 model. I returned the Sharp Aquos Crystal the other night because I needed the money and couldn't root it.

Unfortunately, this model has no LTE and no possibity for me to use outside the US. If you want to use it for Verizon, great deal. The more expensive Sharp lagged sometimes esp while typing and cam was generally awful although it did have micro-sd slot which this Moto G lacks. I feel Motorola uses better components which makes it feel more stable. But since I can't really use it outside US since it has no working sim slot and configured only to Verizon's CDMA networks, no thanks. It has to be the Moto G 4G for me.

The new Moto E is a far better value, though. The first-gen Moto G being $49 on Verizon really isn't a great deal when you consider all the strings that come attached with it. If Verizon gets the Moto E for like $99 or something, then that'd be a great deal.

Motorola Moto E 2nd Gen on Sprint prepaid is only $59 at Best Buy. Great phone and great price. Obviously make sure Sprint works in your area. 35$ month - Unlimited talk, text and 1GB. $10 more per month gets you 3GB.

I just picked up the Verizon Moto G for 25 bucks at Best Buy. Should be interesting.

No Lollipop yet however.
