Hello Everyone-

I am doing a pre-order for the first time through Verizon, in years past I have gone through Apple. I will be ordering my apple watch through apple this year but I want to order my 7+ through Verizon b/c of the upgrade program and I have a gift card for Verizon.

To the point, does anyone know what time Verizon starts taking preorders? I will already be up at 3am est for the apple watch does Verizon start at the same time? at midnight est? anyone with any experience I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, it is better to call in, go online? Any and all advice would help. I tried calling Verizon twice and having them call me back when next available associate is available....still waiting. LOL.

Thank you.

Does anyone know the difference on Apple's website between the Apple iPhone Upgrade Program and the Apple iPhone installments?

Is the Apple iPhone installments the one through Verizon or are they both apple specific? Thanks for the replies.

The time has been answered.

VZW website is generally fairly stable and reliable for preorders.

AFAIK, the installments are just carrier monthly payments. The Apple Upgrade Program involves a hard credit pull, includes AppleCare+, and is through Apple & a credit issuing company.

Just to add to what willmtaylor said, do not call Verizon to preorder. They will definitely help you but the wait times are insane (or have been in the past the one time I tried) so you can likely forget getting it launch day by calling in. I preordered on the website last year and it was surprisingly stable and quick.

Hi, spoke with someone at apple and they stated that the installment plan is through apple as well and it is similar to the other plan but you pay it off fully over two years with no early upgrade and you don't get apple care.

so i guess i am ordering through the verizon website. alarm is already set for 2am est. hoping they don't start selling early or anything. but i am holding faith in that they will follow protocol and that the site will be operational with plenty of stock available at that hour for delivery on the 16th. fingers crossed.

thank you. I am definitely hoping for an online order. if worse comes to worse i might just hop over and order from apple and pay 2 year price as I will already be on that site preordering apple watch. I am really hoping they will have stock in the matte black 7+ in 256gb or the rose gold 7+ in 256gb. fingers crossed for seamless process.

Good deal. Make sure your credit cards and addresses on file are in order.

Which phone are you planning on picking up?

Hopefully the matte black 7+ 256gb if that falls through then the rose gold 7+ 256gb. You?
My iPhone 6 is still doing fine, so I won't be upgrading this year. I only upgrade as needed. And with baby #2 coming in October, that iPhone money will be well-spent on other things.

If I were getting one though, it would be the Matte Black 128GB.
