The unlocked GSM (AT&T and T-Mobile) version is selling for $179 (8GB) and $199 (16GB) on Amazon, Motorola.com.

This $99 figure just blow that out of the water. But it's carrier locked.

-------------------

Just found out why Verizon is selling this at a loss.

They only have 2 plans for this phone

$60 for unlimited talk, text, 2GB of data
$70 for unlimited talk, text, 4GB of data

That pricing isn't bad. It's pretty much comparable to AT&T Gophone service.

It's pretty bad when comparing to Straight Talk.

$45 a month: unlimited talk, unlimited text, 2.5GB of LTE data, unlimited 2G data after that

'Merica!
It is when you can get the same for $40-$50 with more data with other prepaid carriers.

Yes, because network quality and reliability counts for $ZERO when comparing plans.

It still may be a little on the expensive side...Verizon always is...but show me a study that determined Straight Talk (whatever the hell that is) to have the same network/voice/data quality and reliability of a conglomerate like Verizon.

With Straight Talk, you have the option of AT&T or T-Mobile 's network.

Fantastic option. Too bad it isn't LTE though. I would gladly pay the upcharge for VZW/AT&T prepaid over any Sprint/TMo based MNVO

Yeah I have been using ST for a couple years now, nice saving money. I did notice though that when I bought my new lte st sim my signal fluctuates a lot from no signal to lte
