I don't know how i found this free app, if it was on MR or if it was just messing with appshopper or in the app store.

Signals

it's an app that will show you how the signal strength is in certain areas (via actual users). you can "turn it on" and it will post every 30seconds your signal strength on a google map for others to see....

I was driving yesterday and figured i'd turn it on because i knew I was going through an area with horrible signal and figured because it's kind of a "user generated" service i'd post my results so other people in the future can see....

Then I was thinking, heck maybe Verizon put this app in the store? how perfect would it be for them to see the exact strength of AT&T's signal by the AT&T's users! What prevents Verizon from doing this under a "shell corp"? I'm all for competition so I could care less, but it's kind of funny.....

just a thought

ps i know AT&T has the app for the signal strength but that info goes to AT&T
pps now that i think of it how long until it gets taken off the app store....LOL

Cool find. Thanks.
I wish u could see the signal strength for veriZon in the area...
I'm on AT&T so I can't just check my phone to see the signal strength for AT&T.

This might show AT&T weaknesses, but how does it help Verizon? Since this is an iPhone app, it only shows coverage on iPhone-compatible networks. If there's a version on Android, then maybe it'll help out.
