I was wondering whether VCAST music downloading via fone can inspire Apple to do something similar with having iTunes on iPhone once 3G support is enabled for fast downloading on the fly? :)

I have to believe that they want to move to a wireless iTunes, but who knows for sure. It's just too powerful to ignore...sync wirelessly if you need something on your desktop, download songs and video anywhere...it's a no brainer for the future with the iPhone as the perfect platform to make it happen.

I doubt it will happen with 3G though, I think it'll have to wait for something like universal wifi or the equivalent.

I hated VCAST when I had Verizon and I enjoyed Verizon's service....just hated their online garbage

Put together terribly, slow, unreliable, ext....

Maybe...but I really feel like Apple likes the tie between iTunes and iPod/iPhone...how you need to have a Mac/PC to use it.

Apple's always said iPod was a tool to sell Macs, not sure if this is true anymore, but it feels like Apple wants to keep the computer part of the equation...not to mention AT&T has Vcast like solution, but not on the iPhone.
