Verizon vs. At&t family plans

I have been looking for a site that will allow me to compare plan prices between my Verizon family plan and an AT&T plan.

I am hoping to move over to iPhones for my entire family (because I have had a ton of problems with Verizon).

Essentially, I have 2100 shared minutes between 4 phones. Two of them are blackberry storms. We have unlimited texts and unlimited data. Can anyone tell me what my pricing would be for a similar plan? (BTW, I can get like 14% off because of working at a university.)

For 2 iPhones with unlimited Data, 2 non smart phones with no data, 2100 minutes with unlimited texting for all phones would be around $230 plus taxes.
 
The data portion for 4 iPhones would cost $120 ($30/phone) for unlimited data. The voice portion would cost about $130 for 2100 minutes ($109.99 for the first two lines plus $9.99 for each additional line). I think Unlimited Text is $30 on a family plan. Grand Total: $280 plus taxes and fees.

In the midst of all of the complaints about AT&T, it's nice to see that not everyone feels that way.

I have always had good luck with my AT&T service and iPhones...
 
That is exactly what i did almost a year ago. The cost savings ended up paying for the cost of the iPhone. Where I live, the service is so much better as well. It was one of the best decisions I have made, very happy.

ATT and Verizon are basically the same price these days.

Verizon Select Family Plan for four with 2100 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited calling to ten people = $160. Add two smartphone data plans for total = $220 plus taxes.

(The biggest cost saver is knowing what carrier most of the people you call use... since calling intra-carrier and intra-family calling is usually free.)

And the award goes to kdarling for being the only person to get the correct answer! Those prices are the exact same for AT&T as well. Plus, you get the unlimited calling to 10 numbers as well with A-List and you also get rollover minutes. Stop in your local Best Buy for more info and they can give you a Buyer's Guide that outlines all the different plans for all the carriers. (Sorry, I have to plug the company I work for)
 
Verizon has a $69.99 Family plan includes 2 lines 700 minutes, unlimited nights and weekends and Unlimited IN-Calling (Verizon to Verizon)

AT&T has a $59.99 Family plan includes 2 lines also with 550 minutes W/Rollover, Unlimited nights and weekends and free network calling within AT&T.

I have both plans, my verizon plan has more phones then the ATT. But the rollover gives me soo many extra minutes, after 1 year i have over 2400 rollover minutes. And with Verizon and AT&T owning 2/3 of the market...which ever company works for you, youll have a 1/3 chance of getting someone on that network and making a free call.

Both companies have a MY Circle (VZW) or A-LIST(ATT) option for a few bucks more.

IF your Student/Government/Military, make sure you sign up for the discounts, it will save you 10-15% off your primary line each month, and upto 12% off your data plans. This really helps me out alot with a BB and an iPhone.
 
You have to look at YOUR particular usage. While you have 2100 shared minutes, if most of your calls are to each other they will not affect your allotted minutes under AT&T. In addition, nights and weekends are free, and for a small charge you can extend those free hours a bit. Also, you do get to roll over unused minutes on AT&T. In the end, however, service fees are pretty much a wash if you structure the plans similarly. And don't for get to ask about an employer FAN discount.

Unlimited Family Text
1400 Minutes a month (A-List Rocks!!) Nights & Weekends
I pay 247.53 a month!! (15% Govenment Discount)

Beat that!

A lot of larger companies also have deals with AT&T to provide discounts to their employees. My wife gets an 18% discount, so our 550 minute plan with two iPhones and 1500 texts each only costs ~$135/mo. after taxes.

This is what matters most.

My wife and I technically use about 1,700 minutes per month but we do just fine sharing the 700 minute plan!

(And I've got 1,800 rollover minutes built up. We never go over because so many people I know are on AT&T.)

Gladly! Customer support has been terrible, and service is SO SLOW! I don't know if you guys know the program viigo for blackberry, but is essentially a text only rss reader, and it takes a full minute to download like 5 feeds. Terrible!

I know this to be true since this is exactly what my current plan looks like except with only one smartphone and it is just shy of 220.
